新橋駅 Shinbashi Station

Shinbashi has been described as “Salaryman’s Paradise” for the vast collection of distractions that male white-collar workers enjoy: pachinko, hostess bars, and of course, cheap eats. Though Shinbashi unabashedly caters to this demographic, others can enjoy the array of casual dining and drinking establishments, many that have survived for decades. Nothing screams “Shinbashi” like the rows of eateries located directly under the decrepit looking JR line tracks, though in recent visits, it looks like the area is trying to clean up its image by renovating many of these shops en masse. If you’re looking for good food with an urban edge, Shinbashi is your destination.
