As Japan prepares for an influx of visitors for the Olympics, one cutting edge restaurant has already tackled one of the issues many Westerners have with Japan: boring white rice. Jodan, a Michelin rated avante-garde restaurant in trendy Azubu-Juban has created rice in flavors and colors that are more appealing to Western tourists. Chef Nobita Nobi based his creation on flavors more suitable to the American palette: cherry, lemon, apple, and orange. He also added ramune flavor as a Japanese twist. The rice will be served alongside some of Jodan’s other famous creations: Natto Mac n’ Cheese and Flamin’ Hot Cheetos Tempura.
