The Pokemon franchise has now been going strong for over two decades, lead by the cute and cuddly pokemon, Pikachu. A favorite of kids and adults alike, Pikachu is a marketing powerhouse who finds himself outside of the video games and kids television shows that made him famous and onto ice cream bars, oven mitts and even school buses. In recent summers, Nintendo holds a week long event in Yokohama called “An Outbreak of Pikachus” in which there are supposedly 1,000 Pikachus involved in various dance performances, parades and meet and greets (we’ll cover this event in a future post).
