The Yomiuri Giants are the New York Yankees of Japan: by far the most popular team in the Nippon Professional Baseball league and either loved or hated by Japanese baseball fans. They play at the Tokyo Dome, right in the heart of the city and enjoy playing to sell-out crowds the majority of the time. The Giants, whose uniforms are modeled after the New York (now San Francisco) Giants of America, have had some of the most famous Japanese ballplayers on their teams including the world’s home run champion Sadaharu Oh (868 HR) and MLB fan favorite Hideki “Godzilla” Matsui (1993-2002)
Hanshin Tigers all the way.
